Löbner automatic chronographs with decentralized time display and patented crown protection are developed to the highest German quality standards. The “Swiss Made” automatic caliber 6223 with exclusive Löbner rotor has a power reserve of 60 hours. It originates from Switzerland, while the stainless steel case is manufactured in Germany, where every Löbner movement is finely adjusted and every chronograph is assembled by hand. The timepieces are manufactured according to strict guidelines to ensure precision and durability. High-quality materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and carbon ensure durability and lightness, while scratch-resistant sapphire crystal reliably protects the dials. Löbner is also increasingly focusing on environmentally friendly materials and resource-saving production methods in order to minimize its ecological footprint while maintaining the highest level of quality. 

Founded in Berlin in 1862 by Franz Ludwig Löbner, the company developed groundbreaking innovations for mobile timekeeping. By the end of the 19th century, Löbner was already capable of measuring 1/100th and 1/1000th of a second. With its time recording systems, stopwatches, and large clocks, the entrepreneur was represented at the most important horse racing tracks in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century and was the timekeeper at several Olympic Games. Numerous competitions and world records in motorsports were recorded by Löbner stopwatches and time recording instruments. 

At a time when mechanical watches were in high demand worldwide, Löbner focused on precision craftsmanship. Early models were characterized by their reliability and robustness, which quickly earned the company a reputation for excellent quality. The use of Swiss movements played a decisive role in establishing the brand on an international level. 

In the 1970s, during the so-called quartz crisis, when many manufacturers switched to battery-powered models, Löbner remained loyal to mechanical watches. This decision proved to be the right one in the long term, as demand for high-quality mechanical watches rose again. 

With the introduction of chronographs specifically designed for motorsports, the watchmaker experienced a renaissance in the 1990s and attracted worldwide attention. A milestone was the launch of the Steelracer collection, which appealed to motorsports enthusiasts and lovers of sporty watches alike. 

After the company ceased operations during World War II in 1939, Löbner experienced a significant relaunch in 2023 when the brand was revived by Berlin entrepreneur Sven Löbner. After decades of inactivity, the traditional brand was brought back into the world of luxury watches under new management. The aim of the relaunch was to combine German craftsmanship with modern designs and technology. This step marked a return to the perfection that had once made Löbner famous. 

The watchmaker was able to immediately build on its past successes and secure a place in the luxury segment of the industry. The company achieved this primarily through its innovative strength and loyalty to mechanical watches. Löbner has managed to combine tradition and modernity in an impressive way. While many manufacturers succumbed to the quartz crisis, Löbner continued to produce high-quality mechanical timepieces, becoming one of the pioneers in the revival of watches with automatic movements. Driven by a fascination for entrepreneurial daring, technical progress, and inventive spirit, the watchmaker was revived in 2023 by Berlin entrepreneur Sven Löbner and launched into the world of luxury watches as the Löbner brand with the slogan “inspired by a unique story of timekeeping—driven by goals.” 

Unlike classic chronographs, Löbner models feature an exclusively developed complication with a decentralized time display and small seconds at the 10 o'clock position. Thanks to the chronograph second hand, average speeds between 60 and 600 kilometers per hour can be measured using the engraved tachymeter bezel. This unique aesthetic emphasizes the historical significance of Löbner watches as timekeeping instruments—which Löbner commemorates with a corresponding inscription on the dial. 

Another technical feature: the winding crown of the sports chronograph, which is water-resistant to 10 bars, is located under the unique, patented Sledge crown protector. The design allows the wearer to easily release the crown when needed by sliding the regulator up or down. At the same time, the crown protector slider prevents accidental adjustment of the time and protects the crown from stress. Inspired by historical protective cases for sensitive timekeeping devices, it emphasizes the linear, striking case design with integrated lugs and pushers. The Sledge crown protector thus ensures harmonious integration into the sporty, elegant design of Löbner watches, while remaining functional. It is a key element that emphasizes the robustness of the models without compromising on aesthetic appeal.
