Inside, a precise, handcrafted manual-winding movement from L'Epée 1839 with an impressive eight-day power reserve nestles against the curves of the bodywork. The time is displayed on two horizontally arranged, engraved stainless steel discs on the side of the race car. Owners can set the time using the steering wheel in the cockpit. The wheels are also fully movable, making the L'Epée 1839 Time Fast D8 a playful object on a desk or shelf. At the same time, the haptic feature serves a practical purpose: the barrel of the mechanical movement is wound by the backward movement of the rear wheels. The delicate stainless steel spoked wheels are fitted with soft rubber tires that simulate realistic traction thanks to special foam inserts. A special detail of the L'Epée table clock is the visible blown glass driver's helmet, which houses the oscillating escapement wheel of the movement. 

Technically, the L'Epée 1839 Time Fast II impresses with two independent mechanical movements. The main movement has a remarkable power reserve of eight days and displays the hours and minutes on rotating discs integrated into the dual air filters of the V8 engine. The second movement drives an animation: turning the ignition key on the dashboard causes the eight pistons of the V8 engine to move realistically up and down, creating the illusion of a running engine. Both movements are wound by moving the vehicle backwards, with a manually operated gear lever switching between winding modes and neutral. The time is set by turning the three-spoke steering wheel counterclockwise.
