The History of Bell & Ross
Bell & Ross was founded in Paris in 1992 by industrial designer Bruno Belamich ("Bell") and business economist Carlos Rosillo ("Ross"). The two childhood friends shared a vision of developing highly functional timepieces that could withstand the extreme demands of pilots, divers, and military special forces.
In the early stages, Bell & Ross worked closely with the German watch manufacturer Sinn, which enabled the first models to be produced on a proven technical basis. With the establishment of its own production facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 2002, the brand established itself as an independent company with a clearly defined mission: to create watches that focus on precision, readability, and durability.
What Makes Bell & Ross Stand Out?
One of Bell & Ross's defining milestones was the launch of the BR01 in 2005—a square watch with a round dial, whose design was directly inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments. This model became the iconic expression of the brand and created a new design identity that remains influential to this day.
With the BR-X1—a chronograph watch—Bell & Ross later presented an avant-garde interpretation of the classic chronograph, captivating with its specialized complexity and experimental materials such as titanium and carbon. The introduction of the BR05 in 2019 marked another step towards urban luxury and opened up new target groups for the brand. Each of these developments illustrates Bell & Ross's commitment to combining functional watchmaking with a striking design aesthetic.
