Among the brand’s innovations is the world’s thinnest movement at just 1.38 mm—used in the Reverso line. In 1931, the first Reverso debuted with a reversible case to protect its dial during polo matches. The Atmos clock followed in 1928, running on ambient temperature changes. The 1950s saw the Memovox, a pioneering alarm watch. The Polaris line, inspired by the 1960s Memovox Polaris, redefined sporty luxury.

Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the few maisons to manufacture its own movements in-house. With over 400 patents and 1,200+ calibers, it is a beacon of innovation. Its complications—from minute repeaters to perpetual calendars and astronomical displays—push the boundaries of what is possible.

The brand traces its roots to 1833, when visionary watchmaker Antoine LeCoultre opened a small workshop in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux. His quest for precision led to the 1844 invention of the Millionomètre, the first instrument to measure to the micron, revolutionizing watchmaking accuracy.

In 1903, Jacques-David LeCoultre teamed up with Parisian watchmaker Edmond Jaeger, leading to the creation of Jaeger-LeCoultre and laying the foundation for a world-renowned fine watchmaking manufacture. Its pursuit of excellence in every piece ensures Jaeger-LeCoultre remains a pillar of haute horlogerie.

Beyond wristwatches, Jaeger-LeCoultre is known for its Atmos clocks—icons of technical innovation. Powered by tiny fluctuations in temperature, they need no winding. Their open, glass-encased designs showcase intricate mechanics. A change of just one degree Celsius keeps them running for two days. The Atmos exists in styles from classic to contemporary, all defined by silent sustainability.
