Mido was founded in 1918 by watchmaker Georges Schaeren in Biel, Switzerland, at a time of change and technical innovation. In the 1930s, Mido presented the Multifort model, one of the first automatic wristwatches that was shock-resistant, anti-magnetic, and water-resistant—a minor revolution at the time.
