From an early age, founder Jacob Arabo discovered his interest in beautiful things and his craftsmanship. While he initially repaired jewellery himself, his training at a jewellery manufacturer also gave him the technical know-how to create his own designs—and ultimately make them world-famous. This led to the launch of his brand Jacob & Co. in 1986, under which he also founded his first company in New York's "Diamond District." His visionary talent, high level of craftsmanship, and extravagant, avant-garde jewellery designs quickly attracted attention and earned him a reputation, especially among artists and celebrities. 

Although Jacob & Co. became famous for its luxury jewellery, Jacob Arabo's fascination and passion since the age of 13 had been mechanical watches. Bolstered by the success of his jewellery artistry, he realized his first revolutionary project in 2007: the Quenttin, which set records with a 31-day power reserve and a vertical tourbillon. Its launch catapulted Jacob & Co. directly into the upper echelons of haute horlogerie and paved the way for further groundbreaking models.
