This is evident not only in the intricately designed dials, but also in the outstanding calibers, some of which are still inspired by the first pocket watches created by founder François Czapek. The interplay of traditional craftsmanship, excellent execution, and a great dedication to fine watchmaking results in these incomparable watches from Czapek & Cie. 

The roots of Czapek & Cie. date back to the early 19th century. The company was founded by François Czapek, an extremely talented Polish-Czech watchmaker who established his first watch company in Switzerland in 1832. 

A few years later, one of the most important chapters in Czapek's history began: his partnership with Antoine Norbert de Patek, who would later co-found the Patek Philippe brand. In 1839, the two joined forces to form Patek, Czapek & Cie., a collaboration that lasted six years and produced numerous masterpieces. After the partnership was dissolved, François Czapek founded the Czapek & Cie. manufactory. Together with his partner Juliusz Gruzewski, he began to produce the finest timepieces, which quickly gained recognition. They rose to become purveyors to the French court and Napoleon's watchmakers. An honor that still shapes the brand's image today. 

Tragically, the founder disappeared without a trace after 1871, and Czapek & Cie. fell into oblivion until the Maison was revived in 2012 by a group of watch enthusiasts. Since then, it has regained its position in haute horlogerie and once again stands for masterful craftsmanship, technological innovation, and a deep-rooted connection to the history of watchmaking. Today, the brand is a living legacy of its former founder. 

The watchmaking artistry of Czapek & Cie. stands out thanks to its exceptional expertise in the art of guilloché engraving. This traditional decorative technique, also known as engine turning, allows fine geometric patterns to be engraved onto the dial. This refracts the light in a particularly exciting way on the otherwise smooth surface, creating a fascinating depth and a punctual shine. 

At Czapek & Cie., guilloché is carried out using hand-operated lathes. This process requires not only extreme precision, but also a constant feel for the right amount of pressure. Today, there are only a few guillocheurs who have mastered this demanding technique and perfected it through many years of training.
