The Modern-Retro Sea Watch
Breitling Updates the Superocean Heritage for 2025
Since its first appearance in 1957, the Breitling Superocean Heritage has stood out in the world of dive watches. Early models such as Ref. 1004 and Ref. 807 combined practical functionality with a distinctive aesthetic: arrow- and spear-shaped hands, a clean dial layout, and well-balanced proportions. This blend of clarity and design remains the defining characteristic of the collection today.

B01 Chronograph 42
For 2025, Breitling presents updated versions of both the Superocean Heritage chronograph and three-hand automatic models. The B01 Chronograph 42 is powered by the in-house Caliber 01, offering high precision and a substantial power reserve. The dial remains uncluttered, with tonal subdials, a six o’clock date window, and clear symmetry. A ceramic bezel insert enhances durability, while the case pairs seamlessly with a mesh-style metal bracelet or a rubber strap for a comfortable fit.

B31 Automatic 36/40/42/44
The three-hand automatic B31 models extend the line-up with new sizes: 36, 40, 42, and 44 mm. Each version reflects the key design codes of the collection – spear- and arrow-shaped hands, ceramic bezel, and a refined, legible dial – while catering to different wrist sizes and preferences. The 36 mm version offers a compact option, while the larger sizes provide a contemporary interpretation of the original design. Across the collection, subtle updates maintain the connection to the 1950s aesthetic while ensuring suitability for modern wear.
