Zenith have made their own mark on history. The El Primero calibre was the first integrated automatic chronograph movement beating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour.
Zenith was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot at the age of just 22. For almost 150 years the brand has held a reputation for producing high quality watches with exceptionally precise movements. Zenith produces their own movements in-house at Le Locle in the canton of Neuchâtel. The most famous of these movements is known simply as the El Primero.
Introduced in 1969, the El Primero beats at an incredible 36,000 VpH and is seen by many as the standard bearer for all mechanical watch movements. In 2013 Zenith produced an Exclusive Limited Edition of 10 El Primero Chronomaster Power Reserve for The Watch Gallery.
