Tudor 1926, diamond-set dial, a folding clasp, sapphire crystal glass, waterproof up to 100 metres.
The line is named after the year 1926 when “The Tudor” was registered as a brand by Hans Wilsorf, Rolex’s founder. It aims to continue and grow the original values from its beginning decades ago, and offer the same high-quality watches with a technical distinction that the brand was built upon.
For some years now, I have been considering the idea of making a watch that our agents could sell at more modest price than our Rolex watches. And yet one that would attain the standard of dependability for which Rolex is famous. I decided to form a separate company, with the object of making and marketing this new watch. It is called the Tudor Watch Company.Hans Wilsdorf, Founder

THE MANUFACTURE CALIBRESFIND OUT ABOUT TUDORS CALIBRES
TUDOR launched two new models in 2015, both featuring a new mechanical self-winding movement created and manufactured in-house. This unveiling was a step in TUDOR’s path to gaining independence and individuality for itself since 1926.
Throughout time, TUDOR’s philosophy prioritized the quality of its watches and experiences of their owners above all. In the past, the brand sourced exclusively from Swiss suppliers, always ensuring an extremely high standard of accuracy and dependability. Since producing its own TUDOR Calibres, these progressions have kept these benchmarks and requires unparalleled levels of performance for its timepieces.
The TUDOR Manufacture Calibres offer remarkable autonomy with an impressive power reserve of approximately 70 hours. With a frequency of 28,800 beats/hour of 4 Hz, the Manufacture Calibres are controlled by a variable inertia oscillator with silicon balance spring, kept together by a traversing bridge set at both sides to increase resistance to shocks and vibrations. Its self-winding system is bidirectional and is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
