montblanc adds new watches to the 1858 collection

A tribute to glaciers and snowy-mountain atmospheres, the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere watch is one of the main stars of the line thanks to its two distinctive domed turning hemisphere gloves and worldtime complication. It uses deep blue colours contrasted by icy white details to produce a cold and modern tone honouring the shades of nature’s glaciers. The watch’s impressive design is matched by its robust functionality – the 1858 Geosphere is built with a new grade 5 titanium, ensuring the watch is durable and unaffected by superficial scratches. Adventurers will also appreciate the unique engravings that pay tribute to the Seven Summits, the holy grail of mountaineering adventures.

The Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph Limited Edition 1858 goes for more of a vintage aesthetic, taking its inspiration from Minerva’s heritage. This model reinterprets a historical Minerva chronograph with its calibre 13.20 from the 1930s. Much like the original watch, this 1858 Chronograph showcases a black dial with a beige-coloured railway track and two counters at three and nine o’clock. The homage to mountain exploration is embodied in the 42mm case, made out of a special bronze alloy that evolves over time to develop a patina. This tribute is further heightened with a special “Spirit of Mountain Exploration” engraving on the case back. To finish off the vintage look, the timepiece is equipped with a matching beige NATO strap that is handcrafted in France at a traditional, 150-year old weaving manufacture.
