Omega Constellation "Manhattan" collection
The newest model of the Constellation Manhattan watches by Omega launch last month in Shanghai. Brand ambassadors Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, Alessandra Ambrosio and Chinese actress Liu Shishi served as guests of honour.
Omega president and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann says “The Constellation has always been admired by women all around the world. No matter the country, it has appealed to ladies of all backgrounds and styles”.
There will be more than 100 new models available in 25mm, 28mm and 29mm sizes. Omega is calling the new designs “a full makeover for the iconic Constellation timepieces” which were first launched in 1952, with the modern version of the Constellation introduced in 1982. Omega is sure to note that there have been several updates they are subtle and the result of modern design technology.
Some of the updates include bevelled edges for a more refined look, slender bezels, either set with diamonds or in a Roman numeral design, crown teeth in a half-moon shape and the Constellation “claws” which fit more snugly to the case. The caseback for the 29mm model has a slim design achieved by the use of donned sapphire crystal, which absorbs the thickness of the automatic movement.
The dials are available in seven colours; crystal silvery, silk-embossed silvery, sun-brushed gold champagne, silk-embossed gold champagne, sun-brushed dark grey, sun-brushed chestnut brown and sun-brushed blue. The hands have also been updated in the shape of skeletonised leaf.
The watches are available in Omega’s proprietary 18ct Sedna gold, 18ct yellow gold, stainless steel, and two-tone models with either stainless steel an Sedna gold or stainless steel and 18ct gold. The 24mm and 28mm models are powered by Omega calibre 4061 quartz movements, and the 29mm model uses the Omega Master Chronometer Caliber 8700/8701.
