JAEGER-LECOULTRE LAUNCHES NEW 2019 LIMITED EDITION JAEGER-LECOULTRE POLARIS DATE
After the success of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Polaris collection unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2018 in Geneva, the Grande Maison has extended the Polaris line with an exclusive new version: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date (Limited Edition). Produced in a limited series of 800 pieces, the watch combines the brand’s master craftsmanship with contemporary aspects, vintage aesthetic motifs and numerous design updates.
Inspired by the 1970 Polaris II, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date has a modernised dial, now hand-lacquered in blue double-gradient with a sunrayed, grained and opaline finish that is unique to this model. The central disc and main dial now feature a shimmering, colour-change effect that transforms itself from deep turquoise to a stunning royal blue. Also unique to this watch is the blue rubber Clous de Paris strap which matches the inner bezel, and just like the original Memovox Polaris and Polaris II, rotates for extra functionality. Fans of the Polaris collection will instantly recognise the watch’s elongated Arabic numerals, trapezoidal hour markers and baton-style hands, all signature elements of the original pieces.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date is the newest member of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection which is inspired by the iconic Memovox Polaris. Initially developed for the American market between 1965 and 1968, this legendary model remains synonymous with adventure and technical innovation as it introduced a revolutionary amplified underwater alarm function for divers. The new collection pays tribute to the original by incorporating its key design aspects, but it is now redesigned with contemporary touches for the modern era.
