Jaeger-LeCoultre limited reverso tribute tourbillon duoface
To celebrate the watch maker’s 185th birthday, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legendary Reverso receives an extra special variant. The magic of the Reverso began when a British army officer who had broken the glass of his watch during a polo match in India, raised the challenge to create a model sufficiently robust to survive a polo match unscathed. This challenge, successfully accomplished by the Manufacture at the time, led to the creation of the Reverso watch with a swivelling case to protect the dial and movement inside.
Today the watch still remains a classic and offers a range of Reverso iterations, often incorporating contrasting dials and grand complications. For the limited edition Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface, the iconic rectangular case in platinum is sized 27.4mm x 45.5mm, with a premium crocodile patterned leather strap. The timepiece is powered by JLC’s new Caliber 847 movement and the two watch faces are dramatically different. One dial has a traditional navy finish with larger dauphine hands while the other side is quite skeletal, exposing jewels and blue hardware with the 60-second tourbillon on display. The stand-out part of this watch is that the tourbillon is visible on both sides.
As to be expected with a rare release the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverson Tribute Tourbillon Duoface is limited to 50 pieces and will not be stocked at Bucherer.
