Hublot x Shepard Fairey
Always the first to collaborate with the most prominent names in sport, Hublot have taken their Big Bang and partnered with OBEY street guru Shepard Fairey. While Fairey has always been a prominent figure in the world of illustration, he became widely known during the 2008 U.S. presidential election for his Barack Obama “Hope” poster. His work is included at collections at the MoMa, New York and even the V&A, London.
The new Big Bang MEca-10 took two years to develop and showcases a variety of high-end detailing reflect the lengthy creation process. The face’s manually-wound skeleton calibre is supported by a 24 shiny jewel insets and an eye-catching tribal inspired pattern that features the entire carbon fiber Texalium case. Additionally, the strap is made from a mix of calf leather and rubber, for extra durability, with enlarged embossed detailing taken from the pattern seen on the case.
Both colours of the Big Bang Meca-10 Shepard Fairey are limited to 100 editions apiece, alongside a signed and numbered letterpress print frame in concrete.
