Bucherer puts the pedal to the metal at the end of the year with Bucherer BLUEThe new blue-hued creations are extravagant, dynamic and breathtakingly luxurious
Bucherer not only upholds traditions, but has also mastered the fine art of deliberately breaking with them. The Bucherer BLUE watches, which were launched in 2016, are the best example of this. Since then, the collection, which originally featured 14 models from nine renowned watchmakers, has now grown to 31. Bucherer celebrates the close relationship with these selected watch brands, and promotes the brands’ creativity, craftsmanship and innovative spirit. And the latest thrilling members of the Bucherer BLUE family take all of these ideas to a completely new level!
Performance is in their DNA – the blue masterpieces by Roger Dubuis
The famed watch manufacturer is known for extravagant timepieces that feature unmistakable design and expert craftsmanship. And fans of Roger Dubuis will not be disappointed by the spectacular, technically complex creations that the watchmaker has developed for the Bucherer BLUE collection: they are rule breakers in the best sense.
A masterpiece of watchmaking, the Excalibur Aventador S, which is limited to just eight pieces, is certainly in the fast lane in terms of technology, and is a thrilling homage to Roger Dubuis’s partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Both the Excalibur Aventador S and the luxurious supercar Lamborghini Aventador S, boasting the highly impressive V12 engine, turn heads with their spectacular mechanical developments and bold, iconic features. Both brands offer their customers entry into an exclusive world filled with passion and emotional experiences that promise a rush of adrenaline.
Dorothée Henrio, International Marketing Director at Roger Dubuis, describes the collaboration: “Roger Dubuis was honoured to develop exclusive creations for the Bucherer BLUE collection and to crown our successful partnership in this way. The limited-edition Excalibur Aventador S Bucherer BLUE is a truly exceptional timepiece that perfectly captures the innovative spirit of everyone involved.”Patrick Graf, Chief Commercial Officer at Bucherer in Lucerne, adds: “The collaboration with Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini was shaped by the vision of developing something totally in keeping with the spirit of the Bucherer BLUE collection in terms of disruption and the motto ‘Expect the unexpected’.”
Roger Dubuis decided to develop a Bucherer BLUE watch on the basis of the Excalibur Aventador S because it is the watchmaker’s most exclusive, most innovative and sportiest model. A true icon that was inspired by the design and the unique features of the Lamborghini Aventador S and its V12 engine. The Excalibur Aventador S Bucherer BLUE is powered by a Duotor – a hand-wound calibre that was designed and developed at the Roger Dubuis factory and that celebrates the company’s unparalleled expertise. Moreover, the Excalibur Aventador S Bucherer BLUE also houses five patented technological innovations that were inspired by motorsport. The calibre’s balance wheels have been turned by 45 degrees and positioned in a V, making it resemble the pistons of the 12-cylinder engine of the Lamborghini Aventador S. The various elements are all connected by a differential. The combination of the materials used – titanium and coated carbon in dynamic Bucherer blue – is also unique.
The second Bucherer BLUE model from Roger Dubuis is an Excalibur 42 Automatic in stainless steel. The blue dial features Roger Dubuis’s signature sunburst dial design. To honour the fact that this is the 30th model in the Bucherer BLUE portfolio, Roger Dubuis decided to limit the watch to 30 pieces. This model is also clearly a Roger Dubuis creation that offers exceptional elegance at a price that grants access to the exclusive world of Roger Dubuis.
Lamborghini Aventador S BLUE – a supercar with breathtaking finesse
If the colour blue symbolises our longing for the unattainable, the Lamborghini Aventador S BLUE is the epitome of this longing. It starts with the technical features of its 750-horsepower V12 engine, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, can reach a high speed of 350 km/h, and is sure to get pulses racing and adrenaline pumping. More than just a car designed to match the Roger Dubuis watch, this vehicle is top of the range; the best that the world of sports cars has to offer. The matt blue nuance, Blu Kairos, which was developed exclusively for Bucherer, and the SVJ rims in Silver Dianthus make this dream car a fascinating, one-of-a-kind eye-catcher.
When it came time to design the equipment of this unique supercar, the experts at the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese as well as at the Bucherer Fine Jewellery atelier in Lucerne pulled out all the stops. The sensual driving experience starts when you take a look at the exclusive interior. The eye-catching backrests of the sophisticated Alcantara sport seats in the Blu Delphinus shade of dark blue are stitched with a dynamic pattern that prominently features the number 8 in blue thread as a homage to Bucherer 1888. All of the decorative stitching is in Grigio Cronus grey. Even the Blu Delphinus Alcantara foot mats with inserts are embellished with the BLUE logo, as is the carbon plaque fitted on the side of the vehicle.
One particularly distinctive feature is located between the backrests and pays homage to Roger Dubuis: exceptional decorative stitching depicting the contours of the exclusive Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S.
Another highlight from the Bucherer Fine Jewellery atelier adds an extravagant touch: nothing could make starting the Aventador’s engine more thrilling than when your hand glides over the flap that is studded with blue gemstones and covers the start button. A total of 207 sapphires, to be exact, with a total weight of 7.47 carats adorn the black rhodium-plated flap in white gold. The experts spent 64 hours fine-tuning this detail alone, from the CAD drawing to crafting the button itself by hand in the goldsmith’s workshop, all the way to setting the gemstones in the atelier.
The price for the supercar is also record-breaking: the unique piece can be bought for CHF 600 600.– at Lamborghini Zurich. Sheer luxury, exquisite craftsmanship and turned heads guaranteed.
Street art made for Bucherer
Another exceptional creation are the oversized murals by internationally renowned American artist Kelsey Montague. They are true show-stoppers that have already inspired countless people around the world to produce their own unique, interactive works of art on various social media as part of the #WhatLiftsYou campaign. For Bucherer BLUE, Kelsey is creating an exclusive mural for the pop-up space in her typical pen-and-ink style that incorporates elements of Bucherer itself as well as of the BLUE watches.

Its unique relations with the most distinguished brands in the industry are the fruit of many years of continuous collaboration, rooted in know-how, mutual respect and exceptional technical expertise. Bucherer, Chopard, H. Moser & Cie., Hublot, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Longines, Panerai, Piaget, Rado, Roger Dubuis, TAG Heuer, Tudor and Vacheron Constantin.
