Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie

SIHH 2019
The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva is one of the world’s most exclusive watch fairs. This year, 35 watch manufacturers presented their latest luxury timepieces for 2019 at the Richemont group’s prestigious event over the course of four days. These include brands such as Roger Dubuis, IWC Schaffhausen and Jaeger-LeCoultre. We would like to present our highlights from the event.

IWC

Airborne precision

Watch enthusiasts are guaranteed to go into raptures over this timepiece. The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Spitfire IW387902 features a rugged chronograph movement with a classic column wheel design and displays stopped hours and minutes on two subdials positioned at 9 o’clock and 12 o’clock. The design is inspired by the iconic Mark XI navigation watch, which was produced in Schaffhausen for the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1948.

Audemars Piguet

Regal and timeless

A perfect balance of precision and elegance has played a key role in the success story of the innovative brand Audemars Piguet. And one essential part of that is the Royal Oak family, which boasts many world firsts, including the world’s first high-end sports watch made from stainless steel from 1972 and the first oversized watch, the Royal Oak Offshore, from 1993. Now, Audemars Piguet has released the Royal Oak Selfwinding, which comes with a 4302 in-house movement. This distinctive timepiece with a stainless-steel case and anti-reflective sapphire-glass back features an extraordinary grande tapisserie pattern on its dial.

Vacheron Constantin

True blue

What makes the elegant and timeless Fiftysix Self-Winding watch by Vacheron Constantin stand out is its blue alligator leather strap and the blue metal dial framed by a silver stainless-steel case. The transparent sapphire-glass back gives a glimpse of the beautiful 1326 automatic movement, underlining the stylish nature of this timeless companion.

For urban aesthetes

Framed by a stainless-steel case, the blue dial of the Overseas Tourbillon by Vacheron Constantin is a real eye-catcher, not least thanks to the cleverly positioned tourbillon. The handcrafted details of this model include a number of special features that can be admired through the sapphire-glass back. The ultra-thin 2160 calibre with a peripheral rotor bears the Hallmark of Geneva. This watch is intended for globetrotters and urban aesthetes who are looking for a timepiece that is both dynamic and harmonious.

Roger Dubuis

For racing enthusiasts

Do you love fast cars and speed? Created in partnership with Lamborghini, the Excalibur Huracán by Roger Dubuis strongly recalls the design of the car of the same name. The RD630 automatic movement is equipped with a sophisticated, 12-degree inclined balance. Other remarkable features are the black, coated 18K gold hands with white, luminescent tips and the skeletonised date display.

Piaget

Radiant elegance

Radiant, alive and seductive: these three adjectives perfectly describe the spirit of the new, glamorous Limelight Gala model. The watch features a mother-of-pearl dial and is powered by an in-house quartz movement. The white gold Limelight Gala is set with more than 55 sparkling diamonds with a total weight of 4.8 ct. This elegant watch is a radiant piece of jewellery with captivating curves.

H. Moser & Cie.

For lovers of simple elegance

“Less is more” is the name of the game here. The Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Blue Lagoon by H. Moser & Cie. does without a logo and indexes, replacing them with an impressively bold, minimalist design. Resembling a lagoon, the dial lends the watch a touch of stylish tropical flair.

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Feminine charm and elegance

Anyone looking to own a watch that graces their wrist with an exquisite attention to detail will find a real treasure in the Rendez-Vous Night & Day Jewellery in rose gold by Jaeger-LeCoultre. From the new prong setting to the use of mother-of-pearl and diamonds to the alligator leather strap, this timepiece reveals consummate watchmaking craftsmanship. With its automatic movement nestled in a generous case of 36 mm, this jewellery watch will charm women all around the world.

Purest precision

With its hand-engraved blue guilloche enamel dial, the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel by Jaeger-LeCoultre displays a watchmaking style that celebrates precision. This elegant timepiece is limited to just 50 pieces, all of which feature the famous Jaeger-LeCoultre 978 calibre. With its elegant leather strap, engraved date counter and tourbillon movement, which tastefully reveals its secret details, this watch is a genuine aesthetic statement.

Baume & Mercier

Watches for aficionados

Six new models will be added to the Clifton Baumatic collection by Baume & Mercier, all of them combining technical excellence with sophisticated design. In addition to a watch with a rose gold case, the most striking newcomer is the model with a blue fumé dial. The Clifton Baumatic is an indispensable companion for discerning aesthetes who value performance and innovation.

A. Lange & Söhne

Mechanical perfection par excellence

The exquisite Zeitwerk Date and Lange 1 watch models by A. Lange & Söhne have attracted plenty of attention.

Made to mark the watch’s 25th anniversary, the latest Lange 1 is an example of the art of watchmaking at its finest. From the deep blue printed dial and the blue date numerals to the engraved hinged cuvette in white gold to a special engraving depicting the big date with the number 25 embedded in blued lines, this timepiece delights the beholder with its exceptional precision. The model is available in white gold in a limited edition of 250 pieces.

“Digitalisation in mechanical perfection” is the mantra behind the award-winning Zeitwerk Date model. This timepiece incorporates a ring-shaped date display, perfectly in harmony with the design of the dial, and a newly developed movement. The most special feature, however, is the current date, which is displayed in a stylish red that stands out from the rest of the date ring.

Girard Perregaux

Essence and presence

Sophisticated elegance meets dynamic design: the Girard Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Lady model is a masterful combination of sporty details and classic elegance. The Laureato Chronograph Lady dazzles with its elegant vintage design and a precise in-house mechanical movement.

Montblanc

Vintage aesthetics in a modern interpretation

From the curved dials with two different embellishments to dot-shaped indexes to colour shades reminiscent of the 1940s and 1950s, the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Automatic exudes vintage charm. Bold design codes and modern technology transpose the timepiece into the here and now.

Panerai

Dynamic design and sophisticated details

Synonymous with sporty elegance, the Submersible Luna Rossa Carbotech watch is dedicated to the America’s Cup. Panerai will be the official sponsor of Luna Rossa, the Challenger of Record team at the 36th America’s Cup. The rear of this diver’s watch features artistic engravings of the Luna Rossa logo and the profile of the America’s Cup.

The new Submersible Chrono – Guillaume Néry Edition can face any challenge, both above and below the sea. Strong, daring and exceptionally durable, this professional diver’s watch is water-resistant up to a depth of 300 metres (30 bar). The timepiece was inspired by Guillaume Néry, the French freediving world champion famous worldwide for his records and his amazing underwater images.

Hermès

Beautifully designed perfection: the new moon-phase watch by Hermès

Watches that display the moon phases of both the southern and northern hemispheres at the same time are extremely rare. With the Arceau L’Heure de la Lune, Hermès has now succeeded in creating an especially poetic version of this complication. The edition is limited to just 100 pieces.
